Scottish Independence Begins Again – Saturday 30th July 2016 – Glasgow

Hi, hope you are all well and enjoying your summer.  Unfortunately, July in the West of Scotland has been a wash out.  Hopefully August will be much better.

Today there was a March for Independence which started at the West End of the City and made its way to George Square.  It was great to see the flags back in the City as well as a few “well kent” faces in the crowds.  The March and Rally went off peacefully and what started as a wet morning turned into quite a nice afternoon.

I hope you like some of my pictures which are below.

Glasgow Needy Food Bank exceeds first week’s donations

Another beautiful Saturday and with camera in hand I took myself off to Glasgow to see what was going on.  First stop was the Barras where the real Glasgow people congregate to sell their wares and haggle with customers.  The atmosphere is fantastic and I just love to people watch.  There was nothing really to photograph today there but I had an enjoyable day nonetheless.  I then went along to George Square to find Andrew Carnegie back again talking about the needy in Glasgow and to my delight the number of generous people made his needy food bank exceed everyone’s expectations.  There was some opportunity to take more photos of this worthwhile demonstration/rally and what I like about it is that the food bank donations will stay in Glasgow.
